Our Story
Aleka Youth Initiative (AYI) was founded in Northern Uganda to support children and young women affected by decades of conflict. We work directly with families, schools, and local leaders to break cycles of violence, restore dignity, and create economic opportunity for girls and youth.
"Growing up in the Ojwii Internally Displaced Camp during the Kony war, I saw young girls forced into marriage and robbed of their future. I vowed to change that. Aleka Youth Initiative was born from that promise - to give children the education, safety, and hope they deserve."

What we do
1. Rescue &
Rehabilitation
Providing safe shelter, counseling, and vocational training for girls and young women escaping abuse, forced marriage, and gender-based violence.
2. Education &
Awareness
Reaching schools and communities with education on early sexuality, HIV prevention, and children’s rights - empowering over 5,000 students so far.
3. Vocational
& Life Skills Training
Training over 100 girls in hairdressing, tailoring, and business skills to achieve financial independence and self-reliance.
4. Community
Outreach
Holding 10+ community events to mobilize local leaders, families, and influencers in the fight against early marriage and gender-based violence.
